Stainless steel bars cover multiple categories. Many customers confuse stainless steel bars simply with bright bars, black bars or ground bars. Actually, stainless steel bars are divided into five main types: square bars, hexagonal bars, black bars, bright bars and ground bars. Bright bar is only one category of stainless steel bars.
Stainless Steel Bright Bar
Its surface brightness is achieved by chemical treatment. It is manufactured via cold drawing, fine grinding or polishing with good surface luster. Bright bars are available in round, hexagonal, square and flat shapes. This widely used steel features good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low-temperature strength and mechanical properties. It performs well in hot working such as stamping and bending, and shows no hardening after heat treatment.
Stainless Steel Ground Bar
It adopts mechanical grinding process. Due to extra machining procedures, ground bars are priced slightly higher than bright bars.
