Aluminum profiles are widely used industrial materials. Apart from standard sizes, customized aluminum extrusion products are developed according to personalized customer requirements for specific application scenarios, and they play an indispensable role in many industries. The major advantage of customized aluminum extrusions is building close cooperative links between manufacturers and end users.
Procedures of Custom Aluminum Extrusion
Detailed product parameters shall be confirmed first in accordance with application requirements, including specifications, dimensions, mechanical properties and assembly conditions. The complexity of product size and structure directly affects mold development and overall customization cost.
Based on the collected information, technical engineers draw design drawings and define technical specifications.
Both parties review and officially confirm the drawings to clarify execution standards and inspection standards. Third-party testing can be arranged as required.
The next step is mold manufacturing.
After mold completion, trial extrusion samples are produced and submitted for customer confirmation. Mass production can be launched only after sample approval.
High-quality raw materials are selected at the initial stage. Aluminum billets are cast from aluminum ingots and serve as raw materials for industrial aluminum profiles. Raw material quality directly determines the final performance of finished profiles.
Aluminum billets are heated with precise temperature control. Excessively high or low temperature will affect the hardness of finished products, so temperature parameters must be strictly controlled during heating and cooling.
Profile molds are custom-designed tooling with high precision to extrude profiles with designated cross-sections and dimensions.
Industrial aluminum extrusion is carried out on extrusion presses. For regular 6063-T5 industrial aluminum profiles, extrusion machines of 1300 tons to 1600 tons can meet normal production requirements.
Extruded profiles will have slight deformation after forming, so straightening machines are adopted for calibration.
Artificial aging is a necessary process for extruded aluminum profiles to improve mechanical strength.
